Solution to sensing accurate AGL up to hundreds of feet.

An accurate, cheap lidar solution that can sense up to 400', the regulatory limit, would be a game-changer for drone flight. A real 400ft AGL ceiling could be implemented as a flying aid.

So long as a hard stop at 400' isn't implemented, I would love this. They could open up the 500m above takeoff limit, an enable safe, compliant slope climbing on mountains.

That's the recreational flyer perspective. The other major application is 3D mapping. This solution works up to 200' with 3cm accuracy. Beats photogrammetry to a bloody pulp.
