Mavic Air - here we go again ... Active track and elevation changes

ActiveTrack is one of the main uses for me. The Spark works up and down in trade mode. I was struggling wit MA and found this post. Shame on DJI

    Fly in ATTI mode?

Aluminum foil on top of drone. Will block GPS signal. Go open space and above 15m (VPS range). Have fun.

Is Mavic Air Active Track really that useless?

    You are right.

Is Mavic Air Active Track really that useless?

As I replied in another post, the best way is to use just phone with no RC (WiFi mode). It will give you a range of about 80m and you can hide the phone very easily. I use an iPhone, and I can manage to lock all the phone with three fast clicks on the home button (Assisted “something” is...

Is Mavic Air Active Track really that useless?

Once you realize it’s logic, it will work very well. No sharp turns it’s the main advice. Take a look of my videos (on another reply of this conversation)

Is Mavic Air Active Track really that useless?

. If you don’t plan to go very far, it is better to use just phone as main controller (WiFi mode). You can hide the phone very easily (take a look on my videos below - all done this way with Spark) Works really ok for me. Sometimes it loose “me”, but it is not very often Autopilot from...

Is Mavic Air Active Track really that useless?

Active Track always worked fine for me.... Am I a lucky man? Those videos was made with Spark. No RC, just phone as main controller (usually on pants pocket)

Taking off Landing and Fly over water questions

It does not need gps cause it is using Vision System (available up to 8m) to hold position.

    Calling all bikers...

It is possible to use Follow Me in the Air with third party software, like Autopilot - did couple of times before. And, to be frankly, I was planning to do exactly what you mentioned as a disaster recipe: Chest or handlebar mount of controller when Air follows me. Why did you find it will be...

Redundancy and Safety - How reliable MA is?

Does the Mavic Air has dual IMU and Dual compass? How does the Vision Compass work and how can it prevent a flyaway? I have searched a lot for further/more detailed information about these two questions - but didn’t find an definitive answer. I also have an Spark with single everything (no...

Wireless connection from Phone to RC (like Spark)

You know what? I would love to be able to not need to use the “OTG” cable on Mavic Air the same way I do on Spark. It’s way faster to connect phone.... and..... more practical. On my bike, I do attach the RC and the Phone separately with two different holders. Doing that in MA would...
