Just my 2 cents.. (or 10 cents..) when I first got mine, I was quite 'wary/concerned ' of the gimbal boot process... I think maybe mine too was hitting something ... I watched a few you tube videos and found a way to slow its boot movements down.. and I think I also disabled the extra tilt...

As for Skins.. I recently added one to mine, and it went on very nice, easy, great fit etc... I paid less than $15.. Chose something easy to see since I've seen way too many people losing their drones in various terrains and every time its been somewhat difficult to nearly impossible to find...
