I would be more worried about blade and airframe icing flying in snow or low viz low temperatures. Icing can and usually does occur when viz is below 1000 metres and OAT >4*c. Be careful especially if you get motor overload warnings.
Just watched the video. Great filming but as stated breaking just about every rule in the book! It’s not exactly difficult to find the footage so if authority wanted to pursue they could. I wish I had the bulls to do it but to old and a little bit wiser plus if my MPP was to fall out of the sky...
What if he was a CAA commercial pilot? Also if you look at the pics one is taken from inside the tower and the other almost look if he took it from inside anther building looks like window frame on the edges. But must agree it would be nice if it was legal.
I’m sorry gents if I was broad brushing. I am glad that you saw what I was trying to get at. My point is that a recreational pilot cannot fly at night especially using light intensifying goggles. Yes there are some fantastic night shots but taken by professional pilots using high tech cameras...
Only two Things fly at night. Bats and twits. Yes you can see your bird if it has lights but your camera..unless NVG can see little or nothing. If you use urban lighting then you are too close
