    Be Prepared for Uninformed Police..

I have that same exact email. I got it after the incident.

    Be Prepared for Uninformed Police..

Agreed. It was easy to tell that he would get far in his career because of his demeanor and his ability to see that I was in no way a threat to him or to the community. Being able to read people and just being honest with them are pretty hard to come by these days as some officers have shown...

Repair experience with DJI (not so good)

They probably have a ton of repairs to do because of warranty claims as well as people crashing their quads. I am not surprised it takes that long. They are definitely not making any money from the warranty repairs so there is no interest on DJI's part to beef up the staffing to move this...

    Crane shot of a Crane

I was in the parking lot where the drone heads to at the end of the video. My fear was really the interference all the bare metal would pose but I think due to all of the open line of sight, it was fine. I thought the shot when I was moving from left to right and vice versa are also considered...

I like your shots, especially the one where you go under the bridge backwards. I am trying to get enough courage to get those type of shots.

    Be Prepared for Uninformed Police..

I agree with the OP. I was flying in the city of Irvine, which is notorious for their police being just jerks because they have to deal with rich snoots all the time, and a police car rolled up on me while my drone was about 100 feet in the air and about 300 feet away from me. He said, "I got...

    Mavic Pro Insurance!

I am wondering if renter's insurance covers this as well? Similar premise. I live in CA so I don't think State Farm will cover me.

I need to go grab some popcorn.

    Flying over mountain

Are we all just saying no one really knows the truth? I guess we all just fly and wait till bad things happen then. And I am definitely open to hearing other sides to the argument, but other than what the FAA says, I don't know what else to go by.

    Flying over mountain

Guidelines are not suggestions. It's interesting that you chose the word "suggestion" this time though even though you used the word guideline before. Also, one of the definitions for "guideline" is "a general rule". Maybe that is what the FAA means by guidelines? Now I am pretty convinced...

I don't think you answered the question. Are people who are not members bound by the AMA rules as strafe would like to think?

    Flying over mountain

Well I am going to choose to stay below the 400 feet, because I don't want the FAA to by chance catch me and cite me. If you want to fly over 400 feet because you think you are legal to do so, be my guest.

    Flying over mountain

Because if they didn't or couldn't, then anyone under the guise of flying model aircrafts could fly in restricted airspace according to your logic.

    Flying over mountain

There is a separate link for Part 107 pilots. Fly for Work/Business So this page is not referring to Fly for Business/Work and it clearly states the 400 feet rule. Not sure what there is to be confused about. If you asked anyone in the FAA about this, they would point you to this page Fly...

Landing to a new location at a long distance from home point

I always take off about 10-15 feet away from my car and have not had an issue to date. Maybe I am just lucky. I did notice it game me some compass redundancy errors during that flight though.
