Flying with a 300 foot rope attached

Next test would be with a very strong fishing line dropped over a boat at sea and then pulled back to shore!

    Video quality help please

Yep I did the same and now I'm much happier! It's a shame we need to use them but I wouldn't swap my Mavic for anything else!

Phew saved by the skin of my teeth.

As I was only flying in front of me I pushed the low battery warning to the death! When I heard I had 10 seconds left I thought I'd better land it quick! Just as I was about to land on the table RTH kicked in and it started to ascend fast to 40m!! Luckily I managed to pull it back just in time...

    Am I expecting too much?

That's a shame and yes I agree it was worth the try. I'm happier now I have accepted that my Mavic doesn't take as good a video as my iPhone and I have to compensate for it!. I use 2.7k 30fps with an ND filter and pan very slowly. This gives very pleasing results.

Haha I'm just as bad that's how I knew you were lost

    Jerky video

If you're Like me you're probably new to all this but I'm learning fast!! Your Mavic records to an SD card inside the Mavic and also records to the dji go app at a lower quality. The file that you uploaded was from the dji go app so it's at a lower quality. What Elvis101 is asking you to do it...

    Jerky video

I would suspect that the video was jerky before it was uploaded to YouTube as most are from the Mavic! I posted a video on hear asking the same question "am I expecting too much?" On 24fps it's too jerky/choppy unless you pan really really slowly! I now use 2.7k at 30fps with an ND filter and...

    Jerky video

I totally agree. I contacted DJI about it and they said to send it back in for repair however after reading more about it I don't think it's faulty I just think that's the way it is!!

    Jerky video

On a serious note.. after a lot of experimenting I found that 2.7k on 30fps with an ND filter works well. I have also had to lower my expectations on how fast I can pan! You would think that a drone that is so fast and nimble would have a camera to match but the reality is it doesn't!., I don't...

So what's the most "optimal" video quality to shoot at ? 1080 or 4K

To get the best quality video from your Mavic you have to use this simple camera mod. You then get perfect video and small files! Dave
