Mini 5 Pro--getting tired of waiting

I would hope for better dynamic range with the larger sensor as well. So a bigger sensor with better DR, resolution, and low light performance would move the needle for me to buy the mini 5 pro. Until then, I'm still happy with my old Mini 3 Pro.

That would be great, but I agree it might be wishful thinking to fit that into the small/lightweight package.

Mini 5 Pro--getting tired of waiting

I own a Mini 3 Pro and I'm generally happy with it. The only thing that would get me to upgrade to a Mini 5 Pro is a better sensor. With that said, if they did put a 1" sensor in the Mini 5 Pro how much better would the IQ be over what I have in the Mini 3 Pro?

    24p or 30p?

Drones are pretty much prohibited where I'm going so I'm lucky to have a chance at bringing one in. I have to leave the Mavic 2 Pro at home and I'm only allowed to bring the Mini 3 Pro due to size and weight. I was planning on shooting 4k30 for most everything but maybe I'll shoot mostly 4K60...

    24p or 30p?

Okay, I'm not worried about the extra file size or difficulty in editing. Let's say you had an opportunity to take your drone to Africa and film animals out in the bush. It's a bucket list trip. Would you suggest shooting 60p for slow moving maneuvers from above?

    24p or 30p?

Okay, then what if any are the sacrifices of shooting 60fps? Less dynamic range or IQ? I'm aware of the bigger file size, but if you are cutting down to 30fps it seems there is a benefit to shoot 60fps because you have the option to slow it down a bit.

    24p or 30p?

If you are constantly shooting in 60fps wouldn't you lose out on some motion blur with the faster shutter speed of 1/120th compared to 1/50th or 1/60th?

    Auto or manual focusing

I've had several clips ruing by the camera hunting for focus using Auto Focus mode. With that said, is the best technique to use AF to select the closest spot in the frame and then with to Manual Focus mode to capture the flight/clip?

    24p or 30p?

Okay thanks everyone. I will stick to 30p and 60p.

    24p or 30p?

I forgot to mention I follow the 180 degree rule and I have ND filters. I will also be shooting in D-Cinelike. I plan on making films/content to watch on large 4k televisions at home, which will eventually be 6k and 8k. I can see a huge difference in image quality in my RAW files going from a...

    24p or 30p?

Nice. I’m a still still photographer and have that side of photography down but I’m moving into video for a change so I’m looking for the best possible quality to shoot in. Software and computers will only make editing easier in the long run so I want a file I can revisit in the future. Right...

    24p or 30p?

I know the benchmark is 24p for cinema, but what Is better for buttery smooth footage with no jitter on the Mini 3 pro? Some of the reputable drone YouTubers like to shoot in 30p. What do you shoot and why for the buttery smooth cinematic look? Some will say it comes down to editing but I...

Can you overexpose D-Cinelike like you do on a Mirrorless Camera?

Sounds good, I'll go as far as i can without clipping the highlights.

    H.264 or H.265?

Okay, so it sounds like if one wants to future proof their footage and get the best possible image quality then H.265 is the way to go even though current computers may struggle with it. In a few years the M2 or M3 MACs should handle it with ease and it's going to be viewed 5k monitors so I'll...

    H.264 or H.265?

Okay, so it sounds like H.265 does offer a better quality image then correct? Even if it’s marginal, that’s what I want to know.
