That's happened to me 2 or 3 times with my MP1 and it scared the pee-diddly out of me each time. I've had mine for a little over a year.
I think the best thing to do is just let go of the sticks and wait it out. It's not too long, but certainly feels like a VERY long 20 seconds or so.

Check the forums about a recent DJI Go 4 update that may be the cause of your issue. I'm a recent Mavic owner and also fly with a Note 4. I was able to downgrade to the previous version which doesn't have the downlink video problem.
