Thanks. I guess that could explain what happened since it did not seem he had his eyes on the screen when the downlink broke (he was flaying backwards...). So the RC data available in the flight data is only the downlink data (i.e. no way to verify the difference between downlink and uplink cut...
Thank you. So that would mean the crash happened after cut off, which is surprising since it should have been RTH using vision system to avoid obstacles, right? Also, there is no record of fail safe RTH to be activated. I can however confirm the drone is set up to RTH in case of signal loss.
Thanks for taking a look!
So, most trees are under 30 m, but going back on-site with my MA 2 I noticed a few around the 35 m mark. So he could have hit on of these, but it’s really just a few random tops...
I also think it hit a tree before RTH, I would just like to find confirmation in the...
Hello all,
My dad's MA crashed yesterday while flying above a forest at ca. 30 meters altitude. We were fortunate enough to recover it with what seems like minimum damage (few scratches, one of the rear landing pad gone).
I am trying to understand what went wrong before we fly again. I suspect...
Really good idea this challenge! Here is my modest entry.
It is captured by a Mavic Air with a 32 FS ND filter (cannot remember the brand), in Hareskoven (the hare forest) in Denmark, near Copenhagen. I did a bit of basic post processing in iPhoto...
Hi everyone,
Just came by this video of a university experiment.
The wing gets literally torn by the quad. The wing seems to be that of a small aircraft. I wonder if similar damages could be achieved on a commercial airliner, which would be pretty scary... I like the recommendation of making...
Thanks 4wd. My issue is not so much with having variability during recording, it is more those blown out whites that bother me (even - and actually particularly- on still shots). When you say setting the exposure with the wheel, you probably are referring to the MP though, right?
Oops... Thanks. Ok, so I have tried fiddling with EV but never with WB... But isn't that affecting the overall cast / temperature of the shot rather than correcting my overexposure problem?
Thanks for the reply.
What do you mean use 6500K? Is that a value for WB? I thought they were expressed between -2 and 2 (cannot check right now on my MA).
Also, ideally, as stated in my initial post, I would like to stay away from manual settings as I think it is really easy to mess up when...
Hi everyone,
I have a persistent issue with my Mavic AIr: shots are often quite overexposed when shooting in auto, with whites blown up and colors a bit on the washed out side. I am using ND filters (max. 16) but it does not make much of a difference. Some of you will probably tell me to not...
Hi,
I got my MA a few weeks ago and had the same reaction. Like you, I live in a suburban area and was experiencing poor range.
I don’t know where you are based, but I would asssume you are not in the USA? A few days ago I just switched my MA to FCC mode (US transmission standard), and it is...
Thanks for the feedback all. It worked for me as well now. I must have missed something in my previous trial, I will update my previous post so as to not confuse people. I had my first flight in FCC yesterday, the difference is just incredible! It literally feels like flying another drone (I...
