It just fits in the controller, but I found I can't use the USB cord keeper. Not a problem for me. I have a couple of adapters for larger phones/tablets, but I don't like that they block the controller display.

Unless China is encrypting the signal with a secret key that it only shares with vendors that pay to license the technology, there's no way to prevent people from using the new satellites. And if they do use a secret key it will quickly become compromised as it gets shared. Unless China...

^^^ That. I hand-catch 70% of my landings. Most of the places I fly have very little level, clear ground to take-off and land. Also, I always have a power bank so if the controller or phone run low I can recharge them.

I think if his Mavic has drowned he's going to have bigger problems than compass calibration to deal with. If he has DJI Care, at least he might be able to get the drone repaired/replaced if he can recover it.

Anything on Amazon or eBay with the words "Original" or "Official" or "Best" needs to be subject to considerable doubt.

I've bought a number of drones from other manufacturers. So far nothing has compared to the Mavic Pro for its tracking features, quality of photos and video, flight time, flight stability and portability. As far as flight time goes, 15 minutes should not be a problem unless you're paddling in...

You can buy padded camera inserts on Amazon and eBay to stick inside any bag or backpack. Figure out what size day pack you need, get dividers to hold your gear at the bottom. Bonus points for choosing a cartoon-themed day pack that doesn't scream "expensive stuff - steal me."
