Why not turn your canoe into an aircraft carrier and fabricate a landing pad in the middle of the canoe with a large orange dot on the pad? Practice landing on the canoe on dry land before trying it in the water.

I just tested my M2Z at 1080 and 24fps. The zoom only went from 24mm to 96mm (4x).

The manual says 2x Optical Zoom (24-48mm) is for the camera (still photos) and then it says 2x Digital Zoom when recording in 1080p24/25/30. Does this mean 4x total in video?

I'm not sure if this helps but here is a pic in Super Resolution Mode at 400 ft and at sunset with no zoom. Also, I had to reduce the size by 50% to attach the file here.

You can also shoot RAW with the Mavic Zoom. The Super Resolution feature is nice because it stitches together 9 photos for up to a 48 MPixel shot. Also, when in video mode at 1080 and 24 fps, you actually get a 6X zoom on the display (video only).

Thanks for the info. My Mavic 2 Zoom showed a sphere when I downloaded it to my smart controller, but the file ended up being a flat sphere pano. Per your recommendation, I downloaded Gimp (~250 Mb) and followed your instructions. Gimp took the original 9.8 Mb .jpg file and then created a 33 Mb...

Maybe they were struck by lightning mid sentence?

Mavic 2 Zoom updates what? The last update was 1/8/2021.
