This video explains a possible reason for the 8K small sensor. I don't know the real answer myself but it does seem plausible and specially since the 8K seems to be aimed at photography more than cinematography in which case those configurations would make sense.

Took it to a repair shop and they cleaned the gimbal motors out, turns out it had some small amounts of sand or dirt that wasn’t visible until pulled apart.
Works well for now.
I was able to test it out today after a controller sticks calibration and it seems to have made a little worse, more erratic.
Any other suggestions would be very welcome.

Problem:
Gimbal tilts up by itself randomly even when sitting on my desk.
Other than that it works as expected most of the time. It's just a bummer to have the gimbal tilt up in the middle of recording a shot that you then have to do over again hoping there will be no tilt.
Was unit in a crash...
