First videos are out. Seems to fly quite solid. As expected some functions (like active track) are not there, at least yet, but they managed to keep most of their promises, like obstacle detection, waypoints, GPS based follow me etc. etc.
In my case, I did not get a battery specific notification during the main firmware update (probably it was embedded) but after that every time I turned everything off and on with another battery, got a notification and a battery update.
I used to get the "RTH will pass true no-fly zone" warnings quite frequently when I had the Air1 flying in authorization zones (basically the whole town I live in and most of the neighboring towns are in an authorization zone). If my memory serves right, the errors eventually disappeared...
The GEO zones are not properly represented on the 2D map as they are 3 dimensional. They expand as an upside-down cone from the actual lines on the map. This is why you can launch from and fly around (up to certain ceiling) at a seemingly authorization zone, but your set RTH height might put the...
Ah good news :) Also good to know that this is possible. I might try the same thing myself. It is a lot of hassle to get the unlock every few days, especially since Mini2 cannot store many of them...
I don't think there is a "permanent" authorization, at least not in my case. I can get multiple 3 day authorizations, but Mini2 can store only a few of them (the official number you can get is 30, which is almost 3 months). The system is so broken, you cannot transfer your authorizations to...
Ah, I thought you were having problem unlocking via the FlyApp... If you don't get the sms text codes even through the web page, I guess voice verification would be your only choice left. Unfortunately I have never tried that one...
No, never needed to. The text always arrives at my daily use pone (no FlyApp installed), albeit sometimes a bit late. Then I enter it manually into the unlock web page. By the way even the 30 second timer (for entering the code) runs down to 0 at the web page, it still accepts the code. Once you...
I also live in an authorization zone so I always have to do the unlock. No problems using the web page. The phone I use for flying does not even have a sim card. When using the web page you can request the sms code to any phone you want, as you enter it to the page manually. You have to go...
Thanks a lot for the input. I will test again in a different place.
Now I am curious whether one of the sensors in mine is tricking the camera to think that the drone is moving/shaking...
I posted this in the DJI MA forum couple of days ago but could not get any replies. I just wanted to try my luck here, in case there is a solution:
Couple of days back I was out for some sunset videos with my camera when I realized that I forgot all my batteries home. I already had the MA in...
Wind resistance is one of the biggest advantages of the retail folding pads. Let alone the prop wash, they can withstand a significant amount of wind (without the stakes).
When I was doing trials with materials lying around the house while waiting for my retail pad, I almost destroyed my MA. I...
I ordered the cheapest filters money can buy at the time (caenboo ND only set) and I have not changed them since then. My only concern was that they turned out to be slip-ons. But they have not triggered any gimbal errors so far, and they fit in the gimbal cover without any issues. Yet if I have...
