Mavic 2 supports dual controllers, and one of those Occusync 2 channels is assigned to Goggles when Goggles connects (the handheld controller occupies the other.) If MA 2 does not support dual controllers, then it can't be used with the Goggles.

Probably an obvious one, but removing the battery during storage would lighten the drone significantly and reduce any stresses on the props in the case -- if indeed this is a real problem.

Anyone else got USB problems after the update? My Win 10 PC no longer recognizes the Smart Controller as a portable device for transferring files, so there's no way to browse it from the PC. I can't find any drivers to fix this

This is pure speculation and extremely unlikely. A normal person would be in a state of complete panic after finding themselves in this situation. It's far more likely they dropped the drone to ground level and it did an auto RTH that was misconstrued as following the heli at a lower level.
