Thanks for kind words :-) It was something of a labour of love I have to say.

Was lucky enough to spend the winter in the Australian Alps and when I wasn't on the slopes I was throwing up the Mavic. My first time using Premiere Pro. Not a perfect result by any means but I'm pretty happy with it. In particular the train shot near the middle.

    The prodigal drone has returned!!!

Great to see another good news story in this forum. Backs up my experience that the MP is astonishingly robust (delicate gimbal aside)

Let's hear it for the little guy!

I agree with almost all of your post except this bit ^ ... if DJI are failing to support those with real issues (and that would seem to be the case) then that's not good enough. They are not some tiny start-up. Their Phantom line has ruled the pro-sumer skies long enough for them to get their...

I think if you've had a bad experience like a fly-away or erratic behaviour for some reason - and particularly if that resulted in damage - then you'd feel differently. I know I'd be in the negative camp for sure. And I have no desire to argue with those people or diminish their points. Clearly...

Hamilton, Newcastle? This is just outside of Jindabyne. I find it hard to distinguish one part of Aus from another even after 21 years here :-)

You have a fair point with first part of your reply, but this second part is not helpful. I do count myself lucky (and not just because I deserved to destroy the thing today) - and I understand people have had problems. I have had the common gimbal off-level issue. I just think it's good to...

Forums like this are, by their very nature, weighted towards problems, gripes and issues. That's usually why we come here. To get help or discuss an issue. So you can start to get the sense that the Mavic is somewhat flawed. But... I just fell in love with this thing even more a moment ago...

Left MP idling on table. Revved up at random and headed for ceiling... why?

Was a few minutes only. Still around 90%. I think we can summarise as follows: 1. It's a bit of a mystery 2. I'm an idiot for leaving props on 3. I need to stop being such a tit and both a) reduce the time to auto-discharge and b) stop worrying about battery mgmt so much.

Yup. No device connected. Just RC. RC was out of reach from me when it happened.

Hmmm... I guess they would but I haven't looked into how to find those yet. Will investigate later.

Doh! Yeah. That does seem sensible. :-\
