Ads for the smart controller say that the range is 8 km, 5 miles. I start to lose my connection with my rc at about one mile. If this is true-- five times the range with Smart controller-- Then I need one!

I am headed for Guatemala in a week, but have not started looking into this. I'll be in Antigua and Tikal. Apparently Tikal is a no fly zone, but I hope to do some in the Antigua area. If I learn anything, I'll get back to you, and would welcome any wisdom you pick up. Dave

Thank you BigA. The flight in which the first crash occurred was at well over 100 feet. Then I brought it down to head height, then got the audible warning that the drone was landing. I do not get an audible warning when the ground triggers a landing. This was a landing with some impact, but...

Interesting. In my case I am pretty sure that the ground did not trigger the landing because the plane was well above the ground. Also, I believe that a landing triggered by the approaching ground can be aborted with the left stick. I think (though I'm not positive) that I tried to abort the...

Thanks for your input Paul. Actually the battery was around 70 %. I believe that I tried to overcome the landing with the left stick, but it happened so suddenly that I"m not sure. The flight record will show, I assume.

I've been taking panoramas for months, but suddenly I get a read out saying that I can't. I've searched through all of the settings and can't find anything that would allow me to turn panos back on. I hope that the solution is not something that makes me look like a total numbskull! Dave

I have been using PTgui to stitch pano shots together, with some good results, some not so good. How does PTgui stack up against other similar software? Should I be trying a different product?
