How long will it be (if ever) before a price reduction on the OG MP?

Got my MP last winter for $799 from Walmart.com just prior to the release of the Air. Seems like the discounts ought to be even deeper now...

    Gimbal bubble tests; some observations

Um, this is presumably why there is a thermostatically-controlled fan in the unit, which kicks in as things warm up. Thermal control can be rocket science (my old company had an ECO which required gluing a plastic flap inside the chassis to stir up the air turbulence because they had to keep...

What is GPS in the attached device used for?

Cool, thanks folks. Saved some cash there...

What is GPS in the attached device used for?

Thanks. Find My Drone uses both the Mavic's GPS and the device's GPS so that you can see the relative positions of the drone and yourself, but I assume it will show the drone's location even if the local device doesn't have GPS; you'd just have to figure out where that is on the ground (or use...

What is GPS in the attached device used for?

I've had my MP for a month or so and love it; now I'm looking at the MavMount and a tablet. I'll probably pop for an iPad mini 4 for the job. The question is whether or not I need to spend the extra $$ for the cellular-connected model in order to get the GPS receiver (I wasn't planning on...

Mavic Pro lost GPS mid air

For what it's worth, when I got my MP I flew it the first time without doing any calibrations (per manual), and (unsurprisingly) it was unstable in hover. I also got loads of various errors, including GPS errors (and the Big Red Light). Once I calibrated the IMU and the compass, all this went...

    Skidding turns

So was the P2V, but you're right, it does make for smoother camera work. Basically, all I want to make sure is that my unit is behaving as it should, and it sounds like it is. Now it's just practice. But we're getting one of our ten days of crappy weather per year tomorrow, so I'll have to...

    Skidding turns

Thanks, this is helpful. To me this violates the Principle of Least Astonishment; while amped up control levels are usually harder to handle, I would expect that a beginner would do better with being able to turn away from things. Though in retrospect, when I first started flying these things...

    RTH not working properly

In the release notes it says that the upgrade may mess with your settings (though I would expect it to set things back to defaults rather than mess with them randomly). So it's worth double-checking the setting. And as alluded to above, once the battery gets low enough it will land directly...

    Skidding turns

Thanks. I'm loathe to start messing too much with the parameters, as I suspect pretty awful things can happen if you get too far out of bounds, but I'll check it out. Seems odd that the default settings would handle like this, but I've seen a lot of oddness. ;) To put it in a concrete way...

    Skidding turns

This was normal, GPS mode. I'm not trying to do anything crazy. I'm just trying to find out if this is expected behavior or not--with full stabilization I would expect it to be tighter, and it's definitely much more sloppy than my P2V.

    Skidding turns

I got my MP yesterday and immediately went to go fly it. Although I knew better, I took the manuals at their word that the various calibrations weren't necessary. The fallacy of this quickly became obvious, as there was a lot of drifting and circling and various IMU and GPS alarms going off...

    SD Card Reader

I've been using these for years. Currently $4.99 at Amazon.

How fast will the DJI car charger replenish Mavic battery

Even says so in the battery manual (only geeks like me probably read it).
