I’m thinking of taking my drone car camping. I’d leave the drone (Air 2S and extra batteries/controller) in the car overnight. My worry is that when I wake up there might be condensation. For those of you who have car camped, is this ever a problem? Do you have any issues leaving your drone in...
I’ve been using my drone to find sharks, fish, etc, and it requires discerning subtle differences in color in the water on sunny days. The problem is my phone screen is a little dim for this—and often overheats and gets even dimmer during my flights!
What can I do to view my phone screen better...
Did you ever get success with photographing whales?
I have been watching for them every day the last week, and saw some off shore twice…but both times once i flew the drone out I could see NOTHING.
I dont understand it. I have had success with smaller marine animals, including sharks, dolphins...
I still have to implement a lot of this…I have been trying every day! I think I got some big Tunafish off the shore today, am about to look at the footage.
Do you have experience shooting whales?
I saw some whales breach, but by the time I was able to launch and head to the area I saw them...
I have been flying my Air 2S for about a year with no issues, until today when I had a close call. I was flying at the beach about 200 feet over water, 1500 feet or so away, and out of nowhere the frame rate on my iPhone’s screen in the DJI fly app dropped to unusable levels. It was still for...
It is interesting you mention the yaw technique, I have been using just the right and sometimes end up doing my entire return flight backwards because of this, altho I did not entirely understand why—it was just the only way i could see under water so i stuck in that position! Lol
Hey Roar Roar—I got some! I’m so happy! lol
But…my footage is kinda lousy, looking to improve. Is seems no matter how calm the water is, the details of the sharks or the fish around them are always distorted :(
I think this is due to the ripples/chop of the water.
Part of me worries that...
After trying for a year, I FINALLY found and photo/video-graphed some schools of fish and sharks and a few dolphins and big tuna as well.
However, the details of the bodies of these animals are never clear. I tried fooling around with the sliders in Apple Photos and that helped bring out some...
Ok i get it but there are dolphins and sharks to photograph too. Question is how do you find them??
I read the local beaches around here are actually using drones to patrol sharks
I’ve been out flying about 6 times in the past week or so, going out 2.5k+ feet into the ocean on the South Shore, and have seen NOTHING, not even a school of fish.
Is it too early in the season? Am I not looking in the right spots or time of day? Wrong tide?
Those of you who have photographed...
