    Litchi or Dronelink?

Litchi is more user-friendly. Much simpler to use and with a better interface. It has both GPS-based and also rudimentary optical follow me. It currently lacks waypoint missions. DroneLink is much more powerful but with a steep learning curve, if you want to use it to it's full potential. It...

    Hacking the DJI Fly UI.

Tired of not being able to see the battery percentage and number of locked satellites, I have build an additional screen overlay, using Tasker on Android, that periodically parses the info on the screen and then presents it in a much more visible way. Before anyone asks, I am using a bit older...

Mavic Mini / Mini 2 and the new EU regulations

So, the UK requires a A2 CoC for the <500g transitional class? That is one of a very few things left to the individual (EU) countries to decide. In Croatia, the basic A1/A3 online exam is enough to fly a <500g drone in a A1 subcategory.

Mavic Mini / Mini 2 and the new EU regulations

Hi! As the new EASA regulations as outlined in EU 2019/947 seem to allow for some confusion as to the legacy, sub <250g drones, I am wondering how do the individual countries interpret the regulation. I believe the need to register is universally accepted but not for the need to pass the 40...

How safe is the FCC hack?

I've tried the FCC hack and it seems to be working well in urban environments (I usually don't fly further than 300m but I do appreciate a more stable signal). What I am worried about is that with a standard method of keeping the FCC hack (connecting the phone with the props already spinning)...

DJI should release a Mavic Mini 2 in 2020!

Actually, there is one scenario where another sub-250g dron from DJI in this year would make sense, for EU market. All the current sub-250g drones will forever stay in the category with the least restrictions (in UK, possibly in the EU). From 2021. forward, only the new models with MTOM less...

DJI should release a Mavic Mini 2 in 2020!

Yeah, come new year, the MM is the only currently selling DJI drone that will be able to (possibly) fly in the A1 category. All the other models will be more restricted, and in two years even more restricted. Depending on MTOM/FW interpretation MM is quite possibly the only good investment...

Mavic Mini does full 360° panorama!

From the Web app, browse public repositories, sort by most stars and my repository (360 HDR, same username) should be near the top. I am not sure but I think you have to copy the functions into your repository to be able to see them from within the phone app. I do have a two year old phone but...

    Inexpensive Mavic Mini Battery Tester

I don't have a MA2. Even though it's a cool feature I would actually prefer to be able to control it myself. A smart battery can't know if plan to fly in the next couple of days or not. It probably does not start discharging unless it's been sitting near full for maybe a week or more? What if it...

Litchi: Orbit and Waypoints are coming for the Mini

As an Android user, didn't know that. That's bizzare. Is the app access to high frequency GPS positioning that locked-down on iOS?

    Inexpensive Mavic Mini Battery Tester

If the precise battery percentage is something you would like to know for your spare batteries, why wouldn't you use a gadget like this? It's not like it's trying to estimate the energy left with a huge uncertainty. Those are smart batteries that report their own level when asked correctly. The...

Litchi: Orbit and Waypoints are coming for the Mini

Well, Litchi is definitely internally already using a Virtual stick control loop for a lot of their functionality (track, follow, focus). It's true they have never used it for waypoint missions (didn't have to up to now) but a large chunk of the required code is already there. I would guess it...

Mavic Mini does full 360° panorama!

Sorry for a bit late reply. I am in no way affiliated with Dronelink and am also quite a new DL user. I do have some experience with programming so I didn't have much trouble to modify an existing 360 panorama functions for HDR imaging. It's important to note that you do not have to be a...

Mavic Mini does full 360° panorama!

Dronelink can now do bracketed 360 for true HDR panoramas. Combine with a good stitcher and the results are excellent. There are scripts for both AEB (for convenience) and fixed exposure bracketing (for the best stitching results).

    Color enhancement for Mavic Mini?

Have you actually tried it with MM because from my (limited) testing it makes absolutely no sense. You can't get more flexibility for post by first deleting 15% of the original data. And that is precisely what contrast on MM does. It only deletes data by trying to pack the same DR into a smaller...
