Altitude for RTH if I set a new Home Point during flight

Oh, wow, I haven't noticed that. I'll definitely check that out next time I'm flying. Thanks, PhiliusFoggg!

Altitude for RTH if I set a new Home Point during flight

I see you points. But as I fly Mavic Mini 1 using DJI Fly, i don't think I have the function "Return to controller". But I guess I could just (continuously) update the homepoint to a spot really close to me and my controller, as shown in the map when I update the homepoint. Learning in process...

Altitude for RTH if I set a new Home Point during flight

Reasons for resetting the homepoint during flights: I'm thinking that resetting your homepoint during flight is useful if you are moving (walking/skiing/cykling etc) while flying the drone, you might not want to return to the original take-off spot if there is a RTH-procedure. Or if you are...

Altitude for RTH if I set a new Home Point during flight

If I set a new Home Point during flight - does the MM know the altitude of that home-point? If not, I can see scenarios where it flies into trees, mountain walls or obstacles during a RTH-process, due to the fact that it is missing data for the altitude of the new Home Point. Am i right?

In other words, you don't have to let the drone be...

    Over water risk reduction

Thanks for the reply, Surbird! Seems different pilots have different experiences when it comes to flying over water. Some say (and show in filmclips) that there's no problem what so ever. Others have bad experiences. As a newbie I don't yet know what to think about trusting my Mini to fly over...

    Over water risk reduction

Reading the manual I get the impression that the infrared system is used during "regular flight" only when there's no GPS-signal available (for example when flying indoors), and during emergency landing when the drone is checking the ground if it looks flat enough. Isn't that right? That would...
