Mavic 4 Pro Leaked Specs, Price and Date

28mm seems like a good choice for the main camera. Easier to stitch, and the lens could be sharper / less distortion. Not sure it's worth upgrading from the Mavic3 Pro though. What's the unique selling point? I'm not sure I want the built in ND filter--just more layers of glass (or plastic) to...

3 Downtown Miami with the Rickenbacker Bridge

Good idea! Thanks for the suggestion. :)

3 Downtown Miami with the Rickenbacker Bridge

Hi Dale! This was shot at ISO-100, f/2.8 (no choice), exposure 0.6 seconds using the 70mm (equivalent) camera. I shot it using the panorama mode. The software only allows the 360 mode with this camera, which is odd. I should have manually shot it with brackets instead. I think the image quality...

Mini 4 Pro Winter Storm - drone gimbal as a dash cam

LOL. Works great as a gimbal dash cam! Serious snow you're dealing with there.

3 Downtown Miami with the Rickenbacker Bridge

This is a shot of Miami Downtown shot from the Rickenbacker Bridge side. I got stuck in a traffic jam and arrived very late--long after sunset. I'll probably try again at some point. Shot with the Mavic3's 70mm lens. I SHOULD have bracketed the shots. Not my best work, but I thought it was worth...

    Air 3 Downtown Houston

That's a cool wide shot! Nice 360 shot of the water tower as well. Fun! :)

Batteries slightly swelling after flight...cause of concern?

I think it's better to get them down from 100% sooner rather than later. When they are at 100% the chemical reaction that degrades them happens faster. 3 years sounds about right for a battery that was kept at full charge to start bulging. Also if the plastic covering on a bulging battery is...

Batteries slightly swelling after flight...cause of concern?

FYI, This is more likely to happen if your batteries are kept charged at 100% for long periods. Better to store them at 80% or lower. I think 65% is optimal, but anything in the 30-80% range is good. If I charge up my batteries and then don't end up using them on a flight, then I take the...

New air3 won't roll left or go backwards

This is pretty strange though. My guess is that the controller sticks are bad, and the controller needs to be returned/replaced. Makes no sense that only those two axes wouldn't work. You're getting signal to the drone. The drone is hovering and flying, so probably all the sensors and the...

    Mavic 4 Rumors

I'm worried that the tariff on China will push up the price $300 in addition to a higher cost form DJI. Could be a really pricey drone. Maybe that tariff will get negotiated away. 🤞

Any comparison of still image quality with new Air 3S vs Air 2S vs Mavic 3 classic?

Thanks! This was one of the first panoramas I took with the 70mm camera, and I was floored by the sharpness and image quality. This was a green light for shooting with that camera.

Any comparison of still image quality with new Air 3S vs Air 2S vs Mavic 3 classic?

100% agree. These little sensors punch above their weight, and they have relatively fast lenses. Can get great results, especially from a panorama (in the case of photos) This was shot with the Mavic3's 70mm camera...

Drone pilot to plead guilty in collision that grounded aircraft fighting Palisades fire

Agree. He definitely paid a price for that mistake.

Air 3s vs air 2s low light performance

Are we talking video or photos? Smart phones take pretty good low light photos and they have *tiny* sensors. But there is some computational photography trickery being used to get that result. I have a Mavic3 Pro and it's pretty great at everything. But things get updated / improved.

Air 3s vs air 2s low light performance

I think there's more to it than just the sensor size and the speed of the lens. The 3S is apparently doing some computational photography. It does a series of shorter exposures and combines them "in camera". That means you're more likely to get a sharp photo--less chance of "camera shake"...
