The key questions I have - what are the camera sensors and what are the resolutions? Focal length doesn't really tell me much of anything about what I can expect for image quality. The price points so far compared to high quality camera gear aren't even vaguely shocking.

I really don’t want to get stuck with an RC2. The one I had was extremely laggy while doing simple stuff like changing shutter speed and scrolling through the menu and the software randomly crashed and had to restart while I was in mid flight over the water. I ended up returning it and going back to the basic controller + phone. I’ll be pretty annoyed if that option isn’t available and I’m forced to shell out for the RC PRO 2.

28mm seems like a good choice for the main camera. Easier to stitch, and the lens could be sharper / less distortion. Not sure it's worth upgrading from the Mavic3 Pro though. What's the unique selling point? I'm not sure I want the built in ND filter--just more layers of glass (or plastic) to diminish the light.

Maybe they are adding the ND filter but taking away the aperture setting?

Ironically, seeing the MP4 listed as compatible with the RC2, I would also like to think the new pro might support other RC2 drones (Mini 4 Air3/s). I can't justify the Mavic 4 right now, but an enhanced controller with screen for my (to me) excellent Air 3 would be worth considering (especially with future compatibility should i get rich).

Have to wait until the specs are released

Hopefully the mechanical aperture stays, it's one of the main reasons to get a mavic.

The "electronic ND" already exists in some Sony video cameras, hopefully it does not degrade stills quality significantly, as it's additional layers of glass in front of the sensor.

The most questionable spec is a larger sensor. What’s the next step up of mass produced sensors? APS-C? Seems very unlikely but I said the same thing about the 4/3 so who knows.

No one knows until the product is actually released, even the credible rumour mongers. I remember when the Air 3s came out, they only got half of the specs correct. I know most of these people get sent the drone a week or two early…
