Whenever possible, I ask the home or property owner to let neighbors know I'll be flying near their homes. Also, if possible, I try to have the owner there with me while I'm flying to run interference for me.
One way to get the word out would be to require sellers to provide basic information about FAA regulations, especially when/where drones can't be flown. I know, this means gov't regulations but I think that would be preferable to punishing everyone for what clueless people do.
I messaged the FAA asking whether or not, as a Remote Pilot certificate holder, I needed to take the TRUST test. Here is the reply I got. A yes or no is too simple?

Thank you for your correction. So am I to understand the mobile device connected to the RC must have a cellular connection and that a tablet or iPod without a cellular connection can't be used with the RC?
