I am new to this state. Everything around Mesa seems to be closed due to the fires. I was hoping for at least directions to at least one area that I could fly in. Perhaps if I included " working on my Part 107" I would have gotten a better response. So for now it looks like I have $1000 + thats...

Heading up to the rim tomorrow for the first time with the MA2. 2 day trip, not camping. Anyone have suggestions as to good spots to hit.

This is my first. No test flights yet. I see Cook County, I used to line in Joliet / New Lennox.

Got my MA2 all set, 4 batteries charged, activated, software updated, memory card in, controller settings OK, DJI Refresh paid, signed up on Kittyhawk, now I can't go to the Salt due to the fire! What else is nearby?

Thanks all. Everything got here yesterday, except for training wheels/prop guards. I'm not going to be able to get out until week after next so it looks like ground school for me, which is a good thing. Luckily, I had a good habit of reading all of the manuals on new equipment at work.

Thanks, I have been studying for the last few weeks on allowed/prohibited areas, laws, etc. Definitely required for this hobby.

Just joined. East Mesa, retired, disabled Vietnam Vet, first drone, MA2 bundle with an Amazon van full of extras on the way. Think I need to head up to the rim soon.
