Yes. I would recommend keeping the drone on ground until it register at least 7+ satellite before taking off. It should signal "home point has been set" .

I think drone flyers are interested in the longest distance capability, just for the heck of it .... but on the practical side...,, I think a short-range capability more likely implies risk of interference or broken signals in short distances. That is worrisome. Especially, for that price...

My understanding is that f1.7 on small sensor is not the same as f1.7 on a large sensor. In terms of light and depth of field. So 1.7 on Mini may not be better than 2.8 on air2 because different size sensor.
