Mavic Remote: How did they do it? :-)

I came here to see what makes the Mavic remote so much more compact and the range better compared to he phantom stock. Is it really just occusync? The FCC regulates pretty strictly how powerful the transmitter can be. I would love an expert to explain more how it works. Thanks

    mavic maiden voyage

Look at the smile on my 13 year old son's face. He is doing the honors of my Mavic's Maiden voyage. Love at first sight! I was not able to add video from the mavic SD card since the files are 2 GB. I don't know what the easiest way to go about adding clips of the footage but I would appreciate...

    Couple Questions

Hey man, so sorry to hear about your 3DR solo, those quads are rad. I almost bought one and instead went with the phantom 4. To answer question 1, I just bought a mavic and love it already, no regrets! I have limited time to spend with my son and I want to enjoy every minute. I travel a lot and...

    Mavic recovery from forests

After all my research, the most effective tracking devices are RF transmitter / beacon setups. Most include a 433 MHz transmitter with dipole and a receiver with a "yagi" antenna. Yagi are excellent and precise at VERY long range, miles. This is what I purchased back in the day and it is very...

    Buying advice greatly appreciated

Honestly, for a first quadcopter, I don't think you'll notice or miss the difference in camera quality on the mavic compared to the P4. There is a huge difference but I was like you and bought the P4 for the camera to take on hikes with me and it sucked carrying that beast around. I couldn't...

    Thank you.

Technologically DJI is the most advanced consumer grade quality product I've been able to find on the market. I second that "thank you" DJI. It really is nice to have quality in a product and these quads last forever if well cared for. BRAVO

Mavic Pro fell from the sky

Really sorry about your loss. Super sad day. How much damage is there? When was the original purchase date? is it under manufacture warranty? Download the flight logs and post them here as an attachment and we will read them and help you discover what happened. Heres a youtube walkthrough:

Is it legal and ethical to fly near firefighters in a case like this?

It is illegal to interfere with government, police, firefighters, etc... The FAA posted new rules as well about drones and fires due to having to ground helicopters who were attempting to put out fires due to spotting drones and being unsafe to fly around. Man arrested for delaying firefighters...

Charging with handcrank or solar low amps

I just did some research on solar options, and the best I could find was Goal Zero. They use mono crystalline panels, super efficient, small and rugged. The smallest option is the Nomad 7 panels. I think we could charge our batteries off of this 110v inverter called the Sherpa. Sherpa Amazon.com...

Charging with handcrank or solar low amps

any update if this actually works? I'd like to know if solar or hand crank can work, so on my long 3 weeks hikes I could justify bringing my mavic
