Good information. Only had 5 flight sessions so far. Lots to learn. Will give it time to set Home Point and get several Sats prior to flying off. So, do you recommend pointing the Mavic towards or away from you on takeoff, or doesn't it make a difference?

Sometimes when I attempt connect smart controller to Mavic 2 Pro, it makes me select from a list of drone types, then after selecting mine, it prompts me to connect. Sometimes it connects w/o that hassle. Why does it do that? Is there an exact procedure for connecting the controller to the bird...

I completely agree with you. Stills aren't in the same league as the Sony, especially when shooting very early or late in the day. I have Topaz De-Noise AI, and yes, it will clean up the noise and add sharpness nicely. Want to try the HDR effect in the Mavic Pro, although you must shoot jpg, vs...

Lots of flight restrictions where I live, as there's an airport a about 5 miles away from home. I always get a warning of some kind when launching. This is why I haven't even been to 100 ft yet. I have trouble hearing what the lady's voice is saying or or sometimes reading the warning before it...

When my Mav 2 Pro is sitting on my breakfast bar, the smart controller indicates the altitude is 11 ft, but the bar is actually more like 4 ft. Is this a problem, and is this something I can fix?

Yes, I have the grid enabled also. One thing I've already noticed, is the images in the A7 III are much cleaner with less noise in these early morning/late evening shots, as compared to the Mavic Pro. I have Topaz Denoise AI to combat that. No biggie, just an additional step. I will check out...
