If your pc will not recognize the usb device when you have the controller connected then it is probably the same thing I had. Ended up sending the controller to DJI repair In Texas. They determined the main board was bad. Replaced it and sent it back within a week

Got my remote controller back from DJI Repair, very promptly too. Now the weather needs to be repaired (thunderstorms and heavy rains) looking forward to getting back in the air......

My laptop and desktop pc would not recognize the remote when I tried to connect to DJI Assistant 2. Tried with different cables and still the computers would give me a message that the usb device was not recognized

Dji requested that the controller be sent in to a repair station. They have checked it out and the main board is bad. They are replacing the board under warranty

Update: DJI has sent an email today saying that the repair tech has determined that the main board in my remote is bad and that it will be repaired or replaced! Just waiting now for it to get back and get back in the sky! Thanks to everyone for the suggestions on what could be wrong and how to...

I tried 2 different cables. The remote would charge okay. It just would not connect to mobile devices (iPhone or iPad) or laptop with either cable also tried connecting to my desktop pc with the same results usb device not recognized

The RC and AC would work together, just the RC would not connect to mobile device. I am not experienced enough yet to fly without any kind of telemetry

I tried the original cable for an iPhone to both the iPhone and iPad no connection, I tried the cable I got from Drone Valley for the iPad to both the iPhone and iPad no connection. I also tried using my desktop pc instead of my laptop to connect to DJI Assistant 2 with the same results there...

Did that on both my iPhone and iPad. deleted, rebooted device, reinstalled no difference....

I had to do an update when I unboxed it before I could fly.. It has been flying fine till the v1.1.6 update and now it is like the remote is dead to the pc. I can fly the mini without the iPhone or iPad, but I don't want to do that since I am a newbie to drones....
