Yes, I use an iPhone and clear it from the background apps. My colleague uses an Android. He would force stop the DJIFly app before he would open the DroneDeploy app.

There are sun shades you can buy for any device. As for the device it’s personal preference. I have an iPad2 but stopped using it for flying. I just use an iPhone Max now. Any iPad 4 or higher should do. Maybe even a Samsung
