    FAA Guidance to Local Police

This one? I'm a little confused as to how it would be helpful for dealing with police.

Is Geo-fencing and DJI forced compliance a better thing than Autel's lack of geo fencing?

AFAIK it still notifies the user, it just doesn't restrict flight at least in the US. Only anecdotal. A couple people I've talked to in real life that have flown DJI drones and were completely oblivious of controlled airspace or restrictions and a bunch of people on other social media and in...

What Do You Use To Carry Your Gear.....??

How much/what equipment are you carrying?

FAA Part 107 Study Materials (Welcome new drone pilots!)

Solid list of resources, nice job. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but found the Prepware Remote Pilot app very helpful studying for my exam and it's the only thing I spent money on getting ready for it. Really gets close to the kinds of questions you see on the actual exam.

Is Geo-fencing and DJI forced compliance a better thing than Autel's lack of geo fencing?

I think DJI's Fly Safe system leads a lot of beginners into thinking that they have proper FAA authorization to fly in places where they don't because there's a legitimate looking map and on screen prompts they have to accept. I think that ultimately does more harm than good. Not to mention the...

Thoughts on this "VLOS" Ken Heron video?

I didn't make the video nor do I endorse it, just wanted to hear some other drone pilots' opinions. As for discipline points, it really doesn't matter to me lol. I'm here to have a discussion about this and see others' opinions, if admins don't want that here, I can leave and not lose any sleep...

Thoughts on this "VLOS" Ken Heron video?

Hey, just wanted to see what y'all think about this video Ken Heron posted and then delisted a couple of days ago. Not trying to stir anything, but I do think there's definitely a discussion to be had about the actual hazards of flying BVLOS and what it actually means and what it means for...

    AirMap is back

Vic I mean this with no disrespect, but making some very negative claims about a company like this and then saying "Because I said so and do your own research" is inadequate. You made those claims, went as far as to use the word cancerous and I think you should at least show some semblance of...

    AirMap is back

Can you point to any specific pieces of evidence on the internet?

    AirMap is back

I've heard some of these claims, but it's tricky to find clear, reliable sources for them. Can you or somebody else please show some proof? Thank you.

    General Question

I think it's very funny how salty "real" pilots get over drone operators being called pilots too lol. Anyway, my government issued part 107 card says "remote pilot" so I'm a remote pilot.

    Flying over water?

    What are updrafts/downdrafts, Trebek?

    Is this a dumb idea?

I mean it's your drone, go for it. Do you have a fishing rod? I'd try attaching the camera to some fishing line and just yeeting it out there, footage might look cool. Definitely post some videos here once you figure this out.

    Is this a dumb idea?

I just don't think they're all that effective and will still probably get your drone wet if it falls into the water. Not to mention they probably affect how it flies, add more surface area to catch wind on and potentially block the bottom sensors depending on which ones you get. Try it out if...
