I had the iPad mini 2 but the processor wasn't powerful enough. I now have an iPad mini 4 and it works great. (don't get the mini 3 as it has the same processor as the mini 2)

Are you shooting RAW? The quality difference between shooting JPEG and RAW is tremendous. Always shoot RAW on the Mavic.

I still have the issue once I turn off the intelligent modes.

Whenever I activate an intelligent flight mode, I can only shoot JPEG‘s until I land the Mavic, turn off the Mavic and then restart it. This bug has persisted through several firmware updates. Has anyone else had this issue? Are there any fixes/work-arounds?

I recently purchased a used iPad mini 2 for just this purpose. It fits very snuggly into the clamps at the bottom of the remote but no worries about it sliding out. I've had no issues with lag or the app crashing or anything else. I got the 16 GB cellular version $125 on Facebook marketplace...
