Doesn't look like this thread attracted very much interest, but that's ok. :)
I tried something new today; daytime long exposure while moving fast. I used a 6-stop ND to get shutter speeds of about 1/15 s. My plan was to find some fields full of green wheat, with a clear horizon, and then get...
Hi!
I love long exposure photography (on the ground), and I've been trying a bit of long expos with my drone as well. It's obviously hard to pull off really long exposures, but I find that 2-3s exposures are often quite doable with my mavic pro platinum.
Is anyone else doing long exposure...
I almost always shoot 5 AEB too, but I mostly end up only importing one or two of them to lightroom.
It works pretty well 90% of the time. The problem is if you have any drift due to high winds. LR/PS is great at aligning images if the camera was reasonably still and just changed the angle a...
Nice shot! Some good contrast between warm and cold light in this one.
Yeah I kind of feel that the exposure difference in the AEB mode just doesn't make much of a difference. Even a 5-shot bracket is only 1.2 stops difference between darkest and lightest frame, and I find a single raw works...
Good shot! love the line going from diagonal to diagonal! This one might look stunning as a black and white, with quite high contrast, and maybe the top part cropped off so its all river and fields. Just thinking out loud :)
I was actually thinking of photographing old barns with the drone. We...
These are really cool! Do you shoot landscapes on the ground with a regular old non-flying camera too, or just with the drone?
I especially like number 3 and 4, and the light and reflections are awesome on the last one. I would try to return to that one when there are some clouds in the sky :)...
Since some of you mentioned dynamic range and post processing, I thought maybe someone would be interested in a before/after comparison when it comes to post-processing.
I almost always shoot in AEB (5 shots bracket), but since the exposure difference is so small (0.3EV between shots), its...
Haha, thanks, I'm glad you liked the images :)
I don't really like instagram that much, and no youtube channel either.
I post to viewbug (Check out jgnu 's profile) and 500px (Jimmy Gunnarsson) though, so you can always have a look there if you like :)
That's a great idea! I really like "The photographer's eye" by Michael Freeman. It explains a lot of principles of composition in a quite accessible way.
Thanks, I'm really glad you enjoyed the photos :)
Most of the tips I can give are more general ones for all landscape photography. I've found that whether or not the camera can fly doesn't make a difference to a few fundamentals:
- Good light and interesting weather is super important. The...
I know most of the content here is videos, but I pretty much only use my drone (a pro platinum) for landscape photography. I've had it since last summer, and I love the new opportunities it gives to capture landscapes!
Does anyone else use their drone for landscape photography? I'd love to see...
