I have no issues with RTH using a wifi iPad, just that the map does not show. As in I will just see the flight path but no Google Maps underlay

Yup I agree with you. Sucks, but NFZs pop up due to overzealous flyers who don't fly safely and overzealous authorities who rather enforce than educate.

Actually you don't need to touch your RC if you are doing auto take off right? After takeoff, it will hover. You have time to switch your hands to the RC.

I like to use RTH to bring it closer to where I am, and land it manually. The sun and glare in Singapore makes it a bit hard to spot the drone sometimes.
