DJI Refresh *doesn't* cover sunk drones!?

This happened to me. I tried to recover by snorkeling & offering reward. No luck. I made "a case" with DJI per their customer support suggestion. That want to see my flight logs & all. I claimed it was a malfunction with the drone & DJI came back 2 months later claiming it was pilot error. They...

    State Farm canceled me today

State Farm will tell you right up front that if you make a claim "within the first year of the policy" that they will probably cancel you. It's not new. I just renewed for my second year in October. They doubled the rate from $30. a year to $60. I knew the rate hike was going to happen as I got...

Storing Mavic Pro Batteries Properly for Months...

I have read it before you posted it & this is what I'm concerned about. I'm getting mixed answers to the question. Raising kids is easier than taking care of these batteries. LOL! I might just take them with me.

Storing Mavic Pro Batteries Properly for Months...

Thanks charliesRig. I had already read that in the manual & I have even contacted DJI in chat support about this. It just doesn't seem clear to me. Why would I discharge it manually when it will discharge on it's own? Won't it continue to discharge to depletion if I just let it go? Just seems to...

Storing Mavic Pro Batteries Properly for Months...

I'm going out of town for 2 months & need to store my Mavic Pro batteries. I read that if they discharge to below a certain level it renders them no good. What's the best way to deal with this situation? DJI doesn't seem to have an answer. Thanks in advance.

Seagulls Killed my Mavic Pro :(

I fly over the Caribbean Sea on a regular basis & have had lots of bird encounters. Seagulls & birds of prey seem to be the worst. I suggest flying straight up if you see a bird swooping in. This scares them off. If you go down, the sense that you are afraid of them & their instinct is to...

First Drone for a Pro Photographer

I'm a professional photographer & had been considering a drone for years so I could get away from hanging out of expensive helicopters to shoot aerials. I do a lot of hotel/resort work but I really specialize in food. I bought the Mavic Pro when it came out. The drone itself is amazing & I love...

Pulled Aside by Security at Heathrow

I think you would be better off carrying the drone together with your spare batteries instead of separating them between checked & carryon. Easier to explain the batteries if the drone is with it. Carryon is legal & you can keep one battery in the drone. You're not doing anything illegal. The...

Besides waypoints, Litchi vs. DJI Go?

I use GO 4 only & have never used Litchi. I use it so I can fly the same mission over & over & control the speed & only have to worry about the camera. It works very well but for me the negatives are that waypoints have to be above like 35 feet & there are times when I want to be lower. I...

Considering ipad Mini - question regarding WiFi only.

I just went through this... I was using an iPhone 5s for my Mavic Pro but was growing weary of the small screen. I had planned on buy the iPad Mini 4 cellular but they're just too expensive & I couldn't find one used that worked on the cell phone system where I live(Jamaica). I ended up getting...

    I CRASHED DRONE IN OCEAN

Saltwater? It's done. Buy a new one. Saltwater' really bad in electronics. If it truly was only "5 seconds", you might have a chance but salt is corrosive. Get an airtight storage container. Sterilize makes them with a rubber gasket. Can find them at a Target or Walmart if you're in the...

Share your tips on how to avoid birds!

I'm dealing with seagulls mostly amongst other birds. Go straight up as they get close. This shows them strength. If you go down they will take it as a sign of weakness & attack. This has worked for me dozens of times. Hawks & other birds of prey would be a bit tougher but I would think the...

How large have you printed Mavic still photos?

You won't see as much pixelation on canvas because of the texture, as you would on paper but at that size it had to be below 100 dpi, which is pushing the limit OR the image was rezzed up.

How large have you printed Mavic still photos?

Depends on the printer. Magazines print at 300 dpi but you could probably get away with as low as 100 dpi on a very good inkjet printer. The Mavic shoots a RAW image at 13” X 10” @ 300 dpi. reduce the dpi to 40” X 30” @ 100 dpi & you might be fine. That's a poster. Or 20" X 15" @ 200 dpi would...

    State Farm insurance update

First off, Every state has different rates for drone insurance through State Farm. When I got my SF insurance in October in Minnesota, they had said it was $30. a year but when I went in to pay it, they said the rate was going up & it would be $60. The agent had already quoted me the $30. so he...
