Satellite view is very useful and perfect for a mission like this. I too the Mavic Air 2 out 4.5 miles over the ope ocean with not problem. Just be aware that wind is a huge factor around the ocean and to be conservative with your battery estimates and return when or before the first battery...

I had the same issue and contacted DJI the day DJI Fly app was updated to 1.2.0. They recommend the generic delete the app and reinstall it. This resolved the issue. Also make sure you Controller is updated. They released another updated for the controller yesterday (11/7) afternoon. This...

You sometimes have to click the prompt at the top to upload the data then wait and after it finishes back out of the profile window or close the app for it to update.

I contacted DJI yesterday when I was experiencing problems an I was told to delete and reinstall the DJI Fly app. Also, you need to restart both the drone and controller after a firmware update.
