Yes, the video for updating the firmware shows that each battery you have for the Mavic 2 will need to be installed and updated as well, once the initial update is done for the drone. Happy flying!

More than likely, DJI predicted initial orders and readied a specific number of drones to meet demand. A secondary possibility is that production was somewhat limited by fixing whatever issue delayed the original launch event, which may also have put a dent in their ability to produce the number...

Mine arrived today in CA, one day early as well. Original tracking notifications changed to reflect early arrival this morning. 10:30 delivery changed to 11:00 at 10:30 and it arrived right on time. Shipped from China, but origin label on package says Cerrito, CA. I wonder if they do that so...
