Thanks @scro that was exactly it. I had a hunch it was once of those in flight only settings & I had even took it off inside my house to go look for the setting. Could not find it. It has reset itself to OFF. Set it back to JPEG and I am good to go again. Thx again.

One obvious reason to use a mini 3 is if you F Up and hit an aircraft you are less likely to do major damage to it or its occupants due to its light weight. Yes it is frustrating isn't it. Just came back here after a few months hiatus. Still the same. Seems DJI has no interest in fixing the satellite map offerings on the RC controllers in Australia.

**** that just caught me out today. Went looking on the SD and no pano files for PTGUI. To set it on, drone has to be in flight to be able to select the Pano shooting option. Then down the bottom right of the screen tap the camera settings and in there is a setting for output which is set to OFF...

Did you have any app crashes on the the RC without the screen recoding feature being in use? That feature could be causing the issue.

My RC updated today to: RC firmware 01.01.0450 App version 1.7.4 Alas it still has the absolute rubbish MapTile satellite maps that are so blurry they are unusable. The notes just said update to Flight Logs and minor Bug fixes.

Makes sense. Mine has the new version and I can fly it with the cover on. Just cannot tilt gimbal full up or down. Limited to about 40 degrees. Not that I fly it with rather cover on normally. Useful to know so with the finless cover you can turn the M3P on with legs folded and cover in place...

Likewise same issue with a Mavic Pro Platinum which I just paid DJI to replace the camera and it is perfect again now. I put is down to the camera on my unit not being properly sealed. The stuff about temperature changes are valid if are unlucky enough to have a unit with a non sealed camera...

You may be able to locate your drone beyond VLOS using the camera. But it will do SFA to tell you what else might be flying nearby to it. See & avoid etc.
