Sounds like you were at Yaquina Head Lighthouse. I am getting pumped up for my trip which starts this weekend through August. Will you be in the area at all in the next 3 weeks?
Yes that`s what I got out of the video. So for now when you have no cell service the restrictions will remain in place. I use multiple batteries and will power the Mavic down multiple times per session. What can you do this is a pretty big bump in the road for me anyways.
Well that would be great I will give it a try. I thought he stated in the video that the app login process returns full functionality to the Mavic until you turn it off - I will watch it again and thx singer I appreciate your guidance...
In some cases that may work but I can`t log in and turn the Mavic on and then drive or hike out to a location for hours simply not enough power for that.
I accomplish this by simply hiking up and finding the best mid point and launching - Then fly up and or down from that point giving you more altitude capability the further you climb. This worked well for me filming the ski hill in my town which has 3200ft base to top vertical at a "Home"...
Great shot of the spit I will be staying at Salishan Resort at a beach house in this photo. Lets hook up at Nana`s in Newport and do some flying folks.

As a side note coming from a photography background these conditions are no where near "pitch black". The Mavic can pickup most of the artificial light in his images with the right settings and practice... Just Saying - Lt. Shanks
If your camera is working properly you can increase your ISO so that your subject comes into view then focus. Once you obtain a focus you are happy with reduce your ISO and start shooting...
