Passed the test myself yesterday with a score of 90 :-) Just by going thru Tony Northrup and TMac's video and then going thru the various free practice tests online (thanks to Stanton for the notes). I've not gone thru the IACRA yet but will tomorrow to get access to the temporary cert. This...
Yes, thanks to Marty and Sam I finally understood the answer to this question. And it's good understanding this as it gets confusing when the question is not as straightforward as with BCD airspaces. Regards.
Yeah, that was the explanation given in the sample test question... I was just confused because it was airspace G and then the question was about E. I looked at the FAA Airspace definitions and it seems there is some interplay between Class G and Class E so the answer is probably correct...
Aha! So if that is the case, that answers the question then. I didn't know that Victor airways also figure in
determining the Class E airspace. Thanks for sharing the information :-) Regards.
No, the graphic says 2623. So 1200 feet + 2623 = 3823 which is the answer. But this is if the E36 airport is Class E. But
I don't see any blue shading in there. I think it's actually Class G airspace.
But I thought the Victor airways are just there to show the routes between VORs. In the sectional chart it is those blue/magenta solid and dotted lines and the shades that determine the airspace and so determines the floor and ceilings. Maybe they should have shaded E36 with a blue shade? :)...
Hi, I hope you can help me understand the answer to this question. The question is:
Q: In figure below, Area 1. The floor of Class E airspace above Georgetown Airport (E36) is at:
a. At the Surface
b. 700 feet AGL
c. 3,823 feet MSL
So the correct answer according to the test guide is C...
Wow! Thanks for that info. I've been reviewing heavily in the Sectional charts section and airspaces because I thought that is where most of the questions will be asked. Need to review on the weather as well then (Northrup had a good youtube video on METAR and TAF and probably need to...
Understood... So you were able to park on top of the parking garage and flew the drone there. Yeah that would bring the school security so best not to do that. Unless you have business with the school such as filming building construction activities etc. then you can just get their permission...
This is a very helpful graphic, thank you! I figured out the Class A should be from 18,000 to 60,000 feet which is used by commercial jets to travel to/from international airports etc. But this is a nice graphic. Thanks!
