S7 Edge vs iPad Mini 4

I went the other way. (Mostly because I'm a cheapskate. I don't have anything against Apple except paying way too much for kind of not up-to-date tech: :)) I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8" and replaced Samsung's software with LineageOS. At the time the S2 was US$250 and an equivalent Mini 4 was...

    Active track a dog

I've had it work exactly once (on a friend's MP) and the dog was just walking. When I've tried it on my MP as soon as the dog took off running active track lost her. I'm pretty sure the sampling rate is not quick enough on either MP or MA to detect the sudden motion or change of shape when my...

    Fly between coordinates?

Are trying to fly through the trees or above them? If you're going through the trees OA would be going nuts. Another issue would be that GPS is not entirely accurate nor repeatable. When I re-fly patterns on different days the drone may be 5' or more off the original course which may or may not...

Sneak Preview of the Mavic Pro 14 ;)

I think this is the 13. The 14 has winglets.

    Well that's nice

Could be a number of things. If Android, you'll tend to have issues with permissions on the USB. Could be a different cable will help. In my experience it's almost never the GO 4 (I'm on Android) but cable problems or (earlier) interference from co-running apps, phone WiFi/Bluetooth/Cellular...

    First Video - Tofino BC

Waa, waa, waa, waa, waa. Of course I didn't watch the video. Who has time to look at other peoples' stuff? My comment was to the end that ignorance of the rules or intentional violation of the rules are going to come back and bite us all in the a$$ in the form of even more rules, mandatory...

    First Video - Tofino BC

Seaplanes and helicopters. The entire district is an NFZ plus the rest of the peninsula because of the National Park. Seems like lots of people fly there though.

    First Video - Tofino BC

    It's also a total NFZ.

New way to maintain 10 mile VLOS

Eye do see where Mark is coming from. It is an int-iris-ting image. I know, puns can be so cornea.

Has anyone registered their drone in Patong, Phuket, Thailand recently?

You'll be getting back just as I'm getting there so we'll have to do it another time. Looking forward to Singhas and Sang-Soms and tonic to cut the heat on my fresh som tum.

Help, Drone battey's and carry on

Not sure about the batteries. The MP batteries are 3830mAh or 3.8Ah or 43.6 Wh. If the 160 Wh limit is total or per battery would determine the number of batteries you're allowed. Reports from Thailand are that drone registration enforcement has been stepped up. With an estimated 2 months to get...

Has anyone registered their drone in Patong, Phuket, Thailand recently?

Hey John, I'm in the same boat, as it were. I'm heading to Bangkok and Chiang Mai at the end of March. My plan is to send the forms into the CAAT and keep a receipt for the post and copies of the application. The only thing I haven't figured out is the Mega-Baht liability insurance requirement...

    Leave filters on?

    Oops. My bad.

    Leave filters on?

The filters are press on. No threads. I remove mine to eliminate the possibility of condensation between the lens and the filter, to avoid corrosion, and because I'll usually use a different filter the next time . Just seems to work out that way.
