    Photo comparison Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom

One notable case just came to mind where a longer focal length is absolutely necessary for photography: if you have sensitive wildlife in the image, and you need to do your best to not disturb it, so you have to go as high as possible. Example: Our favorite images from 2018's Wildlife...

    Photo comparison Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom

I have both M2Pro and M2Zoom, and had a M1Pro before, and I'm mostly into photography rather than videography. The M2Pro is generally better, of course. More dynamic range, more resolution, less noise. But you know all that from the specs. I also tried the M2Zoom for photography, and it has a...

    RTH landing position accuracy

Sorry, I searched by several keywords like landing, rth, accuracy, and found none, also not by scrolling back a few days. How can you cancel the auto landing if the remote has lost the connection to the aircraft?

    RTH landing position accuracy

Hi, I am diappointed by the RTH landing position accuracy. Best case it lands half a meter next to the spot, worst case it descends onto a tree standing 3 meters away. So far I always had to cancel and land myself, and I can only hope I never have a remote disconnect. I have both M2 Pro and M2...

I Swapped the Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom Camers!

I bought both. First I ordered the Pro, and intended to keep my old Mavic 1 as a backup. But then I figured a M2Zoom would be a much better backup, because it can share all the accessories including batteries. So I sold the M1P and ordered a M2Z in addition to the M2P, which cost me less than...

    .gis file on SD card

Hi, I found a file named dji.gis with 43 MB on my SD cards after flying for about an hour today. Sounds like something geographic, but I don‘t know that from the Mavic 1 I had previously. Does anyone know what exactly that is, and how I can make use of it? Thanks Maik

Will you keep your Pro when you get your Pro 2?

I always wanted to have a reasonable backup drone, and that the old Mavic will be for me.

New firmware 1000 for Mavic Pro. Anyone tried it?

True? Being a developer myself, I'm certain that every firmware upgrade also contains bugfixes of various kinds, and DJI is often also mentioning them in the release notes. So if one day your Mavic drops out of the sky, you send it in for inspection, and DJI discovers that it failed due to a...

    .800 Firmware Experiences

What image settings did you use? I tested with D-Log and +1/0/0. Especially keeping sharpening at +1 seems key to me to avoid blurry details, same as with 4k recordings in high contrast lighting.

    Mavic won't update!!! wtf DJI

I had the same thing with one of my batteries, but it worked at the second attempt.

    .800 Firmware Experiences

Did a few tests with everything updated. I'm glad to report that 1080p60 has become usable. The footage looks fine. All framerates from 24 to 60 do. 1080p96 however shows weird artefacts, and the file has 23.97 fps in the metadata, so that's totally broken. 4k resolutions are also fine. DLOG...

    ND FILTERS

Ok so my conclusion is to continue using the regular ND filters, because polarizers seem impractical to me. I'm used to using polarizers from DSLR still photography, and of course those have two separate planes which have to be turned against each other to achieve the effect, and the angle...

    ND FILTERS

I have pgytech filters, which don't include polarizing. How do you use the polarizers? Fom traditional photography I know that their effect critically depends on the angle against the sun, and you have to turn them the correct degree for them to be effective at all (to remove reflections on...
