Neither RC nor Mavic Air switches on

Thanks Chris, weather permitting I’ll give it a try on Sunday.

Neither RC nor Mavic Air switches on

I have flown a bit in the fields just South of Canterbury. I plan to go to Whitstable next Sunday, so weather permitting I’ll try to fly a bit there too. Are you allowed to fly anywhere interesting? Beachfront is probably out of bounds (50 m rule etc).

Neither RC nor Mavic Air switches on

I did a quick 1 battery flight. All great! Thanks again. ??

Neither RC nor Mavic Air switches on

Duh, that's what happens when you are 69 years old and don't fly for 10 months. Tried the RC and it's fine. The batteries are on the charging hub, but I'm confident that they'll be good too! Thanks for all that responded so quickly (and patiently...). Nice weather here in Canterbury (UK), so...

Neither RC nor Mavic Air switches on

I have not flown my MA for a long time, probably 10 months. But I have charged the batteries 3 or 4 months ago. Trying to get going again, battery still shows 2 green lights but I top it up anyway. RC shows all 4 lights, but again I put it on the charger. Try to switch the RC on by press and...

    FCC mode in CE area

What do you mean by 'need to upgrade'? Where are you going to fly the drone? In principle, when you start up, the drone will check where it is, using the GPS and set the 'power level' accordingly. If it finds it is in the 'wrong' mode, it will warn you and ask if it should change. So if you do...

    Mavic Air Availability

I was at the Mediamarkt in Amsterdam (near the Central Station) a few days ago and they had plenty Mavis Airs in stock and at a very good price too! I bought my MA Fly More combo there last year and the price seems to have come down by at least €50.

Police called after flying in my own backyard

You are of course correct, but as ‘stupidity’ conforms pretty close to a normal distribution (or so I am lead to believe), it does not make a big difference. (With apologies for sounding pedantic)

    Air versus Shiny New Pro2

At This stage of my ‘droning’, portability is very important. I travel a lot by air, and the MA (no pun intended) with all its stuff (including 3 batteries) inside the travel bag that comes with the Fly More Combo fits very nicely in the bottom of the Thule backpack which I use as my carry on...

Very poor range. Repair under warranty?

Are you in CE or FCC mode?

What happens when GPS blocked by trees?

Trees do not really block the GPS signal that much. As stated above, if its very very dense you may have an issue. I would be more concerned about WiFi being blocked (and hence connection issues) than GPS. But always be careful!

    Signal lost on near distances

Where are you located? In CE mode on 5.8GHz I also sometimes get no more than 250m. If I manually change to 2.6GHz, it is much better (have not tried yet how far I can get but the signal is significantly stronger). For some reason, when I am in 'Auto WiFi' mode, it seems to select a 5.8Ghz...

    FCC mode in CE area

OK, so CE is in Europe and FCC is in the USA. Got that. What about SRRC and MIC? I am currently in Europe but spend a lot of time in South Africa. What WiFi power can be used there? And do I need to do anything to set it (apart from the 2.4 / 5.8 issue)?
