I would like others opinions on this....Compass Calibration

Calibrating the compass when unnecessary is more likely to cause you problems than anything else. I have only ever calibrated the compass when prompted by the software, after double checking that I wasn’t in an environment that could be adversely impacting the compass.

Has anyone really put the Mavic Air 2 through some serious wind conditions? Because I just did..

Love to see the logs too as a gust of 45mph wind would no doubt move the drone.

    Which insurance should I get?

I suspect it’s a matter of existing risk State Farm already has in the state. There is also some active litigation over the terminology in some of the policies, in regards to what “aviation” & “unmanned aircraft” means.

    State Farm for coverage

It’s my understanding that State Farm’s PAP has a cut out for drones in California. If anyone has a recent copy of their policy and wants to forward it to me, I can tell you if it actually covers drones or not. In regards to more in-depth information on how the insurance works and on...

    State Farm for coverage

I understand what you are saying, but it can still be a basis for denial of a claim.

    State Farm for coverage

Yes the rate provided is going to change based on many factors.

    State Farm for coverage

Yes I imagine there are many with 107 that are covered. The PAP is not designed to be used for business equipment though.

    State Farm for coverage

That is supposed to be State Farm’s official stance on the issue.

    State Farm for coverage

There is a blanket statement in insurance though. If you file claims, your rate will go up. This doesn’t change with a personal articles policy. What i’m saying is accurate. True, it’s not happening 100% of the time. However, more likely than not, it is what will happen to the average...

Call them back and ask for a quote for personal articles.

    State Farm for coverage

Correct. However if the loss is under $2,000, you’re generally better off paying it yourself compared to using your coverage.

    State Farm for coverage

If you file an insurance claim for your drone, it will eventually make your overall insurance rates go up, mainly your home owners insurance. DJI refresh is a much better option in the long run. I previously posted more in depth about this here...

Not impossible to have audio onboard drones.

No matter how good the noise cancellation is it won’t stop the physical movement of air that will physically block most of any other sound coming near the mic.

Are the rumours of all the DJI layoffs and down sizing true?

Does it matter? If they downsized it’s due to a reduction in sales forecasts. Assuming that’s accurate, it’s not like there will be less availability of drones. People are buying less so they produce less, but they won’t suddenly produce less than demand.

batteries overheating and melting plastic? M2 & now dropped from the sky

It’s completely possible the battery swelled slightly, causing the battery to lift but not actually disengage the safety latches, producing a gap at the battery terminal.
