[Ah .. I found Flight Reader since I posted the question, and we are already discussing it via e-mail :-).]

HOW TO: Copy TXT flight logs from DJI RC remote controller

I have successfully retrieved the flight log from my Mini 4 (filename: DJIFlightRecord_2023-10-18_[14-43-06].txt) .. Thanks for the hints above! But that old stalwart, TXTlogToCSVtool, does not seem to work on this file. Is there an alternative? (CSView, for example, just calls...

Shooting spherical panoramas with the Mavic Mini 2

I know this is an old thread but it has been useful; thanks all. A bit of bad news: I have a Mini 2 SE and on that the DNG 'trick' is not possible -- it is greyed out in Pano mode. All you can get is the 2000x1500. Especially galling is that 2/3 of the resulting 3MP images are 'used up' in...

Remote volume Mavic 2 Pro (fix found)

? What RTH beep? I used to get that on my Mavic Pro, but never on my Mavic 2 Pro.

Remote volume Mavic 2 Pro (fix found)

Except that when the phone is is the RC the volume buttons are not accessible .... Separately, I'm getting loud beeps (about once every 40 seconds) when the aircraft and RC/phone are just 'sitting there' .. and there are no messages shown on the RC or App. Any ideas as to what might be...

RTH being used on a regular basis.

Why does it matter how 'old' the thread is? If there is good advice in it, it will still be relevant ten or more years from now. And updates as new hardware and software appear will continue to be relevant.

How does 10Km range qualify as VLOS?

Not true -- microlight pilots often fly that low because wind speeds increase with altitude and their top airspeed might be as low as 30mph. Besides, one has a much better view of the ground from 150'...

Another great reason drones should be kept out of America's National Parks

Agreed. But manned aircraft are banned from overflying National Parks in other countries (e.g., Picos de Europa in Spain) -- why not in USA too? Any overflying aircraft is a nuisance -- either for noise or obtrusive contrails, etc. In short .. allow any activity so long as it does not damage...

How does 10Km range qualify as VLOS?

That's not the rule in the UK. Depends on the drone and the pilot, of course, but if you are flying a drone you know which way it is travelling and hence its orientation (or, more specifically, its trajectory). Hence the control input you need to move it away from some other object is relative...

RE: LONG VIDEOS. Not to beat a dead horse....but

What did you not understand when I said I did not want to see adverts?!

RE: LONG VIDEOS. Not to beat a dead horse....but

For me it's simpler ... if anything shows a video advert that I haven't asked/looked for, I turn it off [switch to something else]. So I've never seen a " US Super Bowl commercial" -- curious to hear why they are 'amazing'. Why does anyone watch TV channels when there are commercial-free...

RE: LONG VIDEOS. Not to beat a dead horse....but

I did try some videos when I first got my drone (3 years ago, now), and have found videos useful to give an impressions of the depth of a cave entrance, etc. I initially recorded video for full flights -- but rapidly discovered those videos were neither interesting nor useful. But after the...

RE: LONG VIDEOS. Not to beat a dead horse....but

I just find videos uncompelling viewing. The information bit rate is always too slow, especially if someone is talking. Well-written text with the occasional still photo is rapidly absorbed and doesn't waste the viewer's time.

How does 10Km range qualify as VLOS?

There are a set of regulations, most for "commercial operations"; all regulated by the CAA, with various Permissions, etc. For 'Beyond Line Of Sight' operations this looks a good place to start...
