No don't. Right behind the camera is an air induction system to keep the Mavic cool with flowing air. Keeping it on will only make it hot and maybe fall out of the sky. ;)
I had the experience of seeing how restrictive the firmware is (not sure which version I have - Let me know where I can find that) in being "Near NFZ" area and to, "Fly with caution." (at a beach with hardly anyone around and quite a ways away from general population) I saw a kite surfer coming...
In San Antonio the Film Commission is a part of Parks and Recreation. So these two "communicate" and can be cleared to film/shoot/drone in just about anywhere. The worst they can do is say, "No"

I am curious as I am going to come at this as a commercial shooter and film-maker. Has anyone ever tried to contact the respective film commission's in these cities where the parks are and gotten a filming permit and allotted time slot and date for say a documentary or a feature film or whatever...

As a professional commercial photographer I would put a protective skylight filter on it. However, with the bubble attached and sunlight abundant the light flares on the lens are terrible and renders the footage unusable. I am surprised no one has come up with a decent "optically" clean cover...
