I bet loads of new drone owners don't even realise they are binding to an account as its hidden away while activating the drone, so when/if they sell it it gets ignored. About 80% of the drones I get are still bound. -

If you happen to receive a drone that hasn't been unbound, you can simply contact the seller and get the issue resolved quickly and easily.

What to do.There's no point in trying to fabricate a story to get a free replacement. DJI can review the flight log and will know exactly what happened. Do the right thing and pay for the repair.
