    Batteries

One other thing to remember is that the drone itself probably knows it has a plus battery installed too as it would be heavier and might have slightly different tuning. If RemoteID becomes mainstream, it could easily flag itself as not being under 250g. Granted, I don't think the Plus battery...

How long is it safe to leave DJI batteries fully charged?

I try to charge mine to 100% with the intention of discharging them at max 48 hours later. Usually I just charge that day or the night before. I ALWAYS recharge them manually to about 50-60% as soon as I can after a flight though. One thing I do need to be better about is checking them over...

What benchmark defines an experienced pilot?

Experienced makes me think knowing how to fly in many environments, orientations, knowing the rules, situational awareness and things like that. Accomplished Is really open to personal interpretation. Getting shots you want. Getting shots published/printed. Having paid jobs. I'm not sure i...

    Flyaway Replacement Service

I believe it's actually under the value added service tab.

What benchmark defines an experienced pilot?

Way too many variables to answer this. What is your definition of "experienced"

    Mini 2 Charging Question

The Mini 2's 3 bay charging hub is rated up to 27w and will work off of USB-C PD bricks of almost any wattage. USB PD is smart in the sense where it will pick the most applicable profile to whatever it is connecting to. That said, I use mine with a 18w PD charger and a 65w GaN USB-C PD charger...

Pilot safety aspect of Remote ID?

Tbh I'd be OK with that. Obtain a part 107 for relaxed recreational bvlos.

Pilot safety aspect of Remote ID?

Sorry, wiretapping laws. If the information is available to everyone, it's not considered wiretapping. I'll try to dig up that discussion.

Pilot safety aspect of Remote ID?

Understandable. I read elsewhere that the reason the FAA is making this publicly available was to avoid wiretapping claims. BVLOS, I suppose my standpoint could be more related to ignorance than anything. I flew FPV back in 2015-2017 and "thought" it was legal or unaccounted for back then. I...

Neighborhood Watch & Video Quality Question

It really depends on what the EV meter states. Point the camera at an average scene, maybe 1/3 of the top being sky. There should be a little meter somewhere with a range of -3 to + 3EV. I would aim for 0.0 which is "proper" exposure and adjust up or down depending on how the footage looks to...

Neighborhood Watch & Video Quality Question

Change the exposure settings to manual/pro and set the settings for about -0.3EV. You should be ISO100, with a high shutter speed. Auto will constantly adjust the exposure to be about 0.0 which is "properly metered" EDIT: I just realized this was the DJI FPV, not sure if these settings exist...

Pilot safety aspect of Remote ID?

I'm honestly surprised this thread has been so quiet, with so much money on the line only 2 people have an opinion? TBH I'd be ok with mandated Aeroscope or an "enhanced" Aeroscope to meet Remote ID specs if it meant keeping the full transmissions from common people. If a common person can ID a...

Since upgrading from a Mini 2 to an Air 2S it seems I have more worries than I did before

I remember reading about vision sensor issues caused by the isolation O rings occasionally poking out, but if the gimbal is throwing errors I would replace it immediately.

Pilot safety aspect of Remote ID?

I'm honestly not worried about Aeroscope because of the price hurdle and it's decrypting DJI telemetry. I do have a problem with everyone being able to scan the skies in a ~1 mile radius and being able to pinpoint all pilots in that area as they drive around. Just seems like an easy theft...

    Air2S in Spring 2022

Which opens this up to a ton of speculation with add on modules, reduced flight performance, dongles and other junk. DJI BELIEVES that some of their lineup will be compatible, but there have been no confirmations.
