It pays to check out the English used in any legislation. If you see "must not operate a drone inside a national park" what does that mean? To what does it apply? The drone or the operator? Does it mean that if I stand outside the park I can allow the drone to fly inside the park? Not very clear.

Yes. I sense a lot of red tape. Maybe the government will sense even more needless bureaucracy and can the whole idea. There are thousands of drones out there. How many public servants will be needed to control them and their owners?

It makes you wonder then how air-shows are ever permitted. I've watch countless videos of planes crash on to the watching public. Just do a Youtube search of "airshow crashes". Airshows have lots of low-flying aircraft. That's why we go to see them.

Yes. But I couldn't find any other reference to it. If you go to the CASA site and look up the basic rules you will not find that flying over someone else's private property is verboten. (BYW, that web page is 12 months old.) I would love some more recent information. No mention of it here:-...

With visual line of sight, without goggles, you have very little range information. You have no idea, until it's possibly too late, whether you are about to hit something. With goggles you have a much better idea of what is in front of you and can take avoiding action. Does anyone share this view?

The legal issue is interesting. CASA controls the airspace, not the councils. However, they could, maybe, stop you from operating the drone based upon where you were standing with your RC. You are not allowed to operate a drone in a conservation park. But what if you stood outside a CP and flew...

The rules in Australia and the US (I think) forbid the flying of drones whilst wearing goggles. To me this is a bit like not allowing the flying of helicopters by an onboard pilot, only by a pilot on the ground. Is this a rule which is invariably obeyed by everyone on this forum? What's the...
