LOST my Mavic Pro in.the Republic of Panama (AGAIN...)

I just managed to get it back, safe and sound. It was exactly where expected. Stay safe!

LOST my Mavic Pro in.the Republic of Panama (AGAIN...)

Very thoughtful, and well appreciated. I managed to resolve initial technical difficulties and could access the very useful Phantom Help, so I know where my MP landed (the courltyard of a large hardware store currently closed, as the rest of the country) and already contacted the owner. The...

LOST my Mavic Pro in.the Republic of Panama (AGAIN...)

Hi Art, I am far away, near Chitré (Herrera Province), about 3 and a half hours driving time to Panama City. The problem with flying around Cinta Costera is that I would calculate this area to be 3 kilometers away from the Marcos Gelabert Albrook airport. According to the pretty extensive (40...

LOST my Mavic Pro in.the Republic of Panama (AGAIN...)

I have the TXT info, but I am unable to make sense of it via Phantom Help (captcha issue, apparently). I finally did manage to get a map of the last location, so it is where I thought it could have landed. No need for your help this time, thanks! Problem is that Panama is under total lockdown...

Be a big spender on your Mavic.

I am one of those DoYourselfers Thunderdrones refer to... After my MP crashed against a building in Panama, and I was lucky to find it three weeks later, I initially bought replacement parts on eBay but when faced with totally replacing the gimbal, I found a way to FedEx my drone to Rob. I...

Magic pro price drop..Mavic Pro 2 imminent??

That's my backup strategy... but the wait is killing me!

Magic pro price drop..Mavic Pro 2 imminent??

Thank you Mossiback. I also prefer to get new technology after it has been field-tested. I would suppose that prices for the current MP would drop, so it could be an opportunity to scoop one at reduced price.

Magic pro price drop..Mavic Pro 2 imminent??

Hi Msinger, the MP I crashed in Panama is beyond repair. I wonder if I should wait until the MP2 shows up. I cannot find any reliable information about a possible release date. Regards, Chris

Replacing the canopy (and the mistakes I made)

Thanks Rob, your advice is consistently spot on. And thank you for the close-up too. Since you likely have disassembled a large number of Mavics, I defer to your point of view. Still, the 1.5 mm stripped a screw... I did use a dremel (and a diamond bit) to retrieve the screw. I wonder if anyone...

Replacing the canopy (and the mistakes I made)

After my Mavic Pro crashed into a building, its electronic innards were exposed, so I went to eBay and purchased an original DJI top cover from China (cheap, under $15.00 and it arrived reasonably fast). I also purchased on Amazon a set of micro tools, making sure they included the mandatory 1.5...

    Mounting The Marco Polo Tracker

Very nice and great instructions. I still have to repair my Mavic Pro after losing it for three weeks after a crash, but I just got my Marco Polo waterproof and I'm copying your elegant set up. Thank you very much!

How to reset GPS after a crash (Mavic Pro)

Thank you Thunderdrones. As soon as I receive the replacement upper shell, I will disassemble the drone and take a look inside. There are few options for repair in Panama, as the nearest service center appears to be in Costa Rica. Since there is no postal service in Panama, shipping can only be...

How to reset GPS after a crash (Mavic Pro)

Stupid question: Is GPS RESET a HARDWARE issue exclusively? Such as verifying if the crash did not physically affect the drone innards and a connector popped out, for example. Or would a reset of the controller be required? Or maybe even reinstalling DJI GO 4?
