Another tradeoff on the E2P is much less 3rd party support. There is no good 3rd party autonomous flight programs like Litchi or Dronelink like there is for the M2P.
But since DJI has not released the SDK for several recent drones, it may be a long time if ever for the M3 SDK. The stock DJI...
I have both and will use both. Each can do things that the other can't. DL is a more sophisticated app with greater capabilities and a larger learning curve.
1) Watch YT videos for examples of Litchi screens.
3) Drone will attempt to fly to WP 1 no matter where you start from, no matter how far, no matter what is in the way!
Litchi will only do a few things DL can't. DL has many abilities Litchi doesn't. I use both but DL IS IMO more capable.
If Litchi meets the mission requirements fine, it is capable enough for that mission. For others not so much.
If framing is not super critical that approach works fine. If framing is more critical or you are trying to get shots of objects that are not covered by older satellite images; using the Cable Cam function and pre-flying the mission allows for greater precision.
Litchi or Dronelink will allow you to fly to a point frame the shot, move to the next and repeat as often as wanted and then save that mission for subsequent use.
The sensors on current DJI birds will not keep you from hitting obstacles. They do not cover the sides well and the drone is not always facing the direction of travel. Proper setup of the missions is the only way to insure avoiding obstacles.
